Description
- DescriptionLeadership is very demanding. Whether it was sought or foist upon you. To be asked to be yourself or as much of yourself as possible while Leading could be one of the most demanding things, especially in a professional or business environment.
- However, being as much of yourself is about the best place you can be to be optimal in your Leadership role.
- This course will help you identify and navigate aspects that you should pay attention to, how to navigate areas where there may be conflicts, communication, education and much more, all while dispensing your duties of a Leader. The more AUTHENTIC a Leader is, the better they will perform in work and other environments. Being Authentic brings every Leader closer to being their best professionally (and personally).
- What does it mean? Being TRUE to your Values, being Honest with Yourself and Others as best as possible.
- It is USUALLY a Journey which evolves over time and keeps evolving.
- During this period of evolution, changes will need to be managed along with duties of the Leadership role. In some cases, these will not be aligned:– Some values, personal might sometimes not align with work– What are your responsibilities to the organisation, the business, your colleagues, board etc?– As a leader, in any capacity, you represent more than just yourself.
What You'll Learn
- The Johari Window for Executive Insight: We utilize specialized cognitive tools to map out your “blind spots” and “hidden areas.” This exercise helps in expanding your Open Persona, allowing your team to see the real you, which significantly reduces the energy wasted on maintaining a false professional facade.
- Narrative Leadership and Storytelling: You will master the skill of Strategic Storytelling, learning how to use your own personal history and failures as a pedagogical tool to inspire and connect with others. This involves the Synthesis of Personal History into a compelling vision that others want to follow because it feels rooted in reality.
- Active Listening and Silent Inquiry: This skill set involves more than just hearing words; it is about Deciphering Non-Verbal Subtexts and creating space for others to speak their truth. We use Reflective Communication Frameworks to ensure that your interactions are not just transactional, but transformational.
- The Values-Alignment Matrix: A tactical tool used to audit your current leadership decisions against your stated Personal Ethos. This matrix helps identify “Incongruency Gaps” and provides a structured path for bringing your daily operational choices back into alignment with your Internal Compass.
- Cultivation of Psychological Safety: One of the primary outcomes is your ability to create a “Safe Harbor” environment. When a leader is authentic, team members feel safe to take risks, admit mistakes, and offer Proactive Innovation. This leads to a measurable increase in team creativity and a decrease in fear-based decision-making.
- Increased Retention and Loyalty: Authenticity fosters a sense of Relational Belonging. Employees who work for a leader they trust and respect as a human being are statistically more likely to remain
Requirements
- Radical Self-Honesty: Participants must be prepared to engage in Unfiltered Self-Reflection, which involves looking at personal biases, weaknesses, and past failures without the protection of professional ego. This course requires a high level of Introspective Readiness; it is not for those looking for quick-fix management “hacks,” but rather for those ready for deep psychological work.
- Commitment to Cognitive Empathy: A prerequisite for success in this course is the baseline ability to consider perspectives diametrically opposed to your own. You must possess the Willingness to Listen not just to respond, but to understand the diverse lived experiences of those you lead. This requires a Malleable Ego and the capacity to prioritize the collective’s growth over individual credit.
- Emotional Resilience: Because authentic leadership often involves going against the grain of traditional corporate culture, students must have a level of Psychological Fortitude. You should be prepared to face pot
